Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha on Monday met Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in the national capital, urging the Centre to enhance the ceiling limit for Externally Aided Projects (EAPs).

Following the meeting, Dr. Saha shared on X that several vital projects under the Urban Development, Tourism, and Agartala Municipal Corporation sectors have been stalled due to the existing ceiling restrictions. “Discussed the need for enhancing the ceiling limit of Externally Aided Projects (EAPs), since a number of crucial projects are awaiting progress due to the present ceiling restriction,” he wrote.

The discussion, according to the Chief Minister, centred on expediting key developmental and infrastructure initiatives across the state. An upward revision of the EAP ceiling would pave the way for faster implementation of projects focused on urban growth, tourism enhancement, and municipal development in Agartala and other areas.

During his visit to New Delhi, Dr. Saha also called on BJP National General Secretary (Organisation) B.L. Santhosh at the party headquarters. The meetings underscore the state government’s continued efforts to strengthen coordination with the Centre and secure greater financial support for Tripura’s developmental priorities.
